Our church isn't full of perfect people.. We are a church full of honest, hard working people who are making the choices with their faith that bleeds over into shaping their worlds for the better!

We are conveniently located in downtown Chester right off of Main St. @ 102 Church St. Chester, SC 29706

Our duty as believers is to preach Jesus' ministry of Reconciliation to a world desperately in need of his unfailing love and grace.

First Baptist Church believes in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, the authority of scripture, the priesthood of the believer, and the autonomy of the local church.

First Baptist is a traditional Baptist Church that seeks to impact the community through ministry to the people of Chester and Chester County.  We have a desire to lift up Jesus and make Him known.

Come and learn more about us as we all seek to grow closer to the Lord Jesus Christ, following Him in our lives each day.

Shortly after arriving in Kentucky, Clay was called to be the pastor of the Indian Fork Baptist Church in Bagdad, Kentucky. After finishing his degree at the Seminary, he was called in June of 1991 to be the pastor here at First Baptist Church in Chester. Clay and Kathy have three children.
